Eat, Pray, Love

Our new book! I know I've been talking about this one ad nauseum. So I'm finally glad we're reading it! Have you all started?? Can you just imagine eating to your heart's desire in Italy?? I would be in so much trouble. I might eat pizza for 3 meals a day. Of course I would top it off with some gelato. And limoncello. And wine.

Ciao!

Ciao Baby!! So far so good on this one. She is a little more granola-ish than I think I could realistically identify with, but I am enjoying reading her adventures so far. One Giovanni to go please!! ;-)

Ok, so I just read in one of the reviews for this book that the author got the advance to write the book before even going on the trip......that is uncool if that is the truth, but of course you cannot believe most things on the internet. Does anyone have any info about that?

I just got back from my trip to Philly. I read all of Part One & I love it so far. I don't think I am anything like her at all, but she makes me laugh outloud sometimes. You will see in the book that she said she did get an advance on the book, which helped her finance the trip. I am reading ahead into India. I can't wait to discuss Part Two!!!

Yeah, she did get an advance. That would be nice. I would love to go to Italy and eat and drink (and that's all) for 4 months. Or even forever. That would be really cool.
However, I am now in the India part as well. What??? What?? I just don't get this existensial, transcendental stuff. Nor do I believe it is necessary. And I'm not really sure who has the time to do that stuff.
Point blank: Liz is NEUROTIC. She is the poster child for that word. And NEEDY. And DRAMATIC. If you notice in the book, everything she does is attached to drama. I've got to admit, I'm all of these 3 words too...just not to her extreme.
I think we should celebrate each passage. Italy: Eat and drink at Romanellis. India: Eat and drink at India Majal. Bali: I'm not sure about this one. I don't even know where that is (oops).

Bali is in Indonesia. I'm not sure where we could eat for that one.

But isn't that Thai?

Yea, but I think it is as close as we're gonna get..

So...I finished the book! I have A WHOLE BUNCH OF THINGS TO DISCUSS WITH YOU GUYS! As book club note taker, I believe this book has far more notes and comments than any we've read thus far. Well, maybe Wicked was up there too....
So, what do you guys think about next Wed meeting at Romanelli's and discussing?? Or at Indochine? In keeping with the spirit of the book, I would think we could eat until we burst at Romanellis. At Indochine we would have to eat daintily...I'm not sure if that's a word, but you know what I mean.

It is a word but it's not hard to eat your fill at Indochine either!

I also finished the book. I loved it because it made me want to discuss so many things. I can't wait to hear Caroline's notes. I am up for dinner & book club next Wednesday!
