The Mailbox

Our first book of 2011 is The Mailbox: A Novel by Marybeth Whalen. She is a NC author. The novel takes place in Sunset Beach, NC. I really am hoping for a book club award in 2011. I didn't pick a book last year. Picking a book is so much pressure!!!! I hope this a good one.

March read

Three cheers for Amy for picking our March read - Saving CeeCee Honeycut by Beth Hoffman. Looks like some good Southern chick lit that of course we love!!

Also, thanks to Jen for getting knocked up!! It gave us a great excuse to have a super fun Noah themed baby shower for her this last Saturday. Check FB for all the silly pics :-)

The Wednesday Sisters

Our new book is Wednesday Sisters by Meg Waite Clayton.

This month's book is Swimming Lessons by Mary Alice Monroe. It's about 4 ladies at the Isle of Palms. It's a Southern author....the story takes place at the beach...and there is supposed to be a Happy Ending!

This month we are reading Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah.

I can't get enough of Edward Cullen.

We've moved right on to the next one. I love Edward!

Ok book clubbers. We discussed our love of the first book in the series last night. For those of you who haven't read it yet, Twilight is not a book you want to skip! We're moving right along to New Moon next. I can't wait!

Anyways, I am super excited about our new read. Even more exciting is that our boy Leo is Frank Wheeler in the movie.

Christmas Party

Just wanted to let everyone know that the Book Club Christmas Party is Saturday, December 20th beginning at 5pm at the Costello house. And the new book is........Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier. We are shaking it up a little with an old schoold read. A little, mystery, romance, and suspense to keep you turning the page. I am so excited about reading this book. It has been a looooooong time since I read it last and it is all coming back to me. I'm enjoying it even more this time. Hope you all are enjoying it too. We are reading through Chapter 9, but since we are not having book club this week, we can decide how far to read for next time. There is a movie to go along with the book, so we can have a book club movie night too :-)

21: Bringing Down the House

I LOVE our new book! It is sooo much fun and it makes me want to go to Vegas and win millions. I'm pretty sure that Book Club is clever enough to get it done. Question: Who will be the spotter? Who will be the Gorilla? (If you have no idea what I'm talking about, then you haven't read your book!!)

The movie comes out on DVD on July 22nd. I already have it in my Netflix Queue, and I thought we would watch it on a book club night--so everyone will have to finish before then!

Alphabet Weekends!!

I'm really liking this one so far. (Hopefully no one gets murdered in the end like our previous book). As I'm reading this book, I'm seeing that there are a lot of differences in the way we speak and the way the Brits speak. It sounds like Kirstin wrote this book...Cloak and Dagger...Read to page 106 for next week!

Friday Night Knitting Club
